About Sealed
Sealed gives solo and small group therapy, psychiatry and SUD practices a HIPAA program built for behavioral health. Our guides answer one question each, cite primary sources, show the date we last checked them and keep a dated change log.
Who we are
Sealed is a HIPAA program for behavioral health practices: a guided risk analysis, ready policies, short annual training and a vendor BAA tracker, with psychotherapy notes and 42 CFR Part 2 covered. Sealed is an Arche Studios company.
How we write our guides
- Each guide is written in plain language for small practices and starts with a short answer to the question a practice owner is asking.
- We base each guide on primary sources: HHS Office for Civil Rights guidance, the regulation text on eCFR and notices in the Federal Register.
- Each guide ends with a "Sources and check date" section that links those sources.
- When a rule is only proposed, we say so and give the date of that status. The HIPAA Security Rule update is one example.
How we keep guides current
Every guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated. We re-check sources when HHS publishes something new and at least once a month for rules that are still moving. Each guide keeps a change log so you can see what changed and when.
How to report a correction
If you spot an error or an outdated line, tell us through the contact form. Name the guide and the line, and leave out any client information. When we fix a fact, the guide's Updated date changes and its change log says what changed.
What our guides cover
Our guides explain federal HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 rules for therapy practices. They are general information, not legal advice, and state laws can add their own requirements. For a decision about your own practice, talk with a qualified attorney or compliance professional.
